Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using NoBoard, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the app. Continued use of NoBoard after any update to these terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised version.
User accounts
To access most features of NoBoard, you need to create an account. Accounts can be created via:
Sign-in providers
- Google Sign-In — available on iOS and Android.
- Sign in with Apple — available on iOS only.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account. Any activity that occurs under your account is your responsibility. You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required by law in your jurisdiction) to create an account.
Acceptable use
You may use NoBoard to
- Play chess games in blind or classic mode against the AI.
- Train through puzzles, openings, endgames, and famous games.
- Compete in real-time multiplayer matches with other users.
- Track your statistics, ELO rating, and progress over time.
- Use voice commands to enter chess moves during gameplay.
You may NOT
- Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to play games or manipulate rankings.
- Create multiple accounts to gain an unfair competitive advantage.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the app or its backend.
- Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities instead of reporting them to us.
- Use NoBoard for any commercial purpose without prior written consent from TADI Labs.
Purchases & subscriptions
5.1 Pro Subscription
- Available in monthly and annual billing cycles.
- Unlocks: training levels 3 & 4, unlimited challenges, advanced statistics, unrestricted AI difficulty, and removal of ads.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- To cancel, manage your subscription through your App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) account settings.
- Partial billing periods are not refunded upon cancellation.
5.2 Content Packs
Content packs are one-time purchases that permanently unlock additional content. Available packs include: Master Endgames, Blind Openings, Famous Games, PRO Puzzles, and Sky Mates. Once purchased, packs are tied to your account and accessible across devices logged in to the same account. Content pack purchases are non-refundable except as required by App Store or Google Play policy.
5.3 Virtual Coins
NoBoard features a virtual currency system (Coins). Coins can be earned through gameplay or purchased within the app. They are used to unlock cosmetic items (titles, avatar frames) and consumables. Virtual coins have no real monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred between accounts, or refunded. All coin balances are lost permanently upon account deletion.
All payments are processed securely by Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). TADI Labs does not collect or store your payment information. Applicable taxes, if any, are calculated and collected by the respective platform. Refund requests are governed by the refund policies of the App Store or Google Play.
Advertisements
ad_units Google AdMob
- NoBoard displays ads served by Google AdMob on free accounts.
- Interstitial ads may appear at the end of a game.
- Rewarded ads are optional and may be watched to unlock temporary features or bonuses.
- Active Pro subscribers do not see interstitial ads.
- Ad content is determined by Google and subject to Google's ad policies. TADI Labs does not control the specific ads displayed.
Intellectual property
- NoBoard, its name, logo, design, code, content, and all associated materials are the exclusive property of TADI Labs or its licensors.
- You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any part of the app or its content without prior written consent from TADI Labs.
- Chess moves expressed in standard algebraic notation are in the public domain and are not claimed as proprietary.
- Your game history and statistics are your data. By using NoBoard, you grant TADI Labs a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process this data solely to operate and improve the app.
- The chess engine used in NoBoard (Stockfish) is open-source software licensed under the GNU GPL. Its use complies with the applicable license terms.
Disclaimer of warranties
NoBoard is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. TADI Labs does not warrant that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted. We do not guarantee that the chess engine will play optimally at all times or that voice recognition will be 100% accurate. Your use of the app is at your sole risk.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TADI Labs and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, NoBoard — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of virtual items, loss of progress, or disruption of service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the total amount you paid to TADI Labs (through in-app purchases) during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or ten US dollars (USD $10), whichever is greater.
Account deletion
- You may permanently delete your NoBoard account at any time from within the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Deletion is permanent and irreversible. It will erase your profile, game history, statistics, achievements, ELO rating, active streak, and coin balance.
- Purchased content packs, subscriptions, and virtual coins are non-refundable upon account deletion, except as required by App Store or Google Play policy.
- Active subscriptions must be cancelled separately through your App Store or Google Play account to stop future billing.
- All personal data associated with your account will be erased within 30 days of deletion, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Minors
NoBoard is not directed at children under the age of 13. Users between the ages of 13 and 18 (or the age of majority in their jurisdiction) may use the app only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. In-app purchases by minors require parental authorization as per the policies of the applicable app store. TADI Labs does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
Governing law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to the competent courts of the jurisdiction in which TADI Labs is legally established. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Changes to these terms
TADI Labs may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. We will notify you of significant changes via an in-app notice or by email (if provided) at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of NoBoard after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
